Cindy BriggsJIM ASKED: Thanks for recommending the trimmed brisket. Do you have a favorite recipe for preparing the brisket?

MY ANSWER: Thanks to your request, this week I’ve featured my recipe for brisket on my blog and website. Brisket is made differently in kitchens throughout the U.S. Every cook has his or her own method of preparing brisket and many have secret ingredients they wouldn’t reveal if they were threatened with bodily harm. My recipe, I believe, is more of a Texas style oven method that I learned from the Sheriff’s Posse when we lived in New Mexico. The not-so-secret ingredient in mine is the Dr. Pepper.
