Freddie’s question: Do you have a good recipe for con queso? Maybe you can suggest something other than the usual Velveeta, sausage and Rotel combination?
My answer: My recipe for Hot & Cheesy Shrimp Dip is basically a con queso. As con queso I serve it from a crock pot with tortilla chips rather than in a bread bowl. I also modify this recipe by cutting the shrimp to 12 ounces and replace the Ranch dressing with 1 can of Rotel. I’ve taken this con queso/dip to parties and it’s always a big hit. It’s more expensive using shrimp but only a couple dollars more than using sausage, shredded chicken, etc. Thank you for your question and your interest in Ask Cynthia a Question.
